 Graphic Arts and Design Experience

Opportunities for formal Art training came early in my childhood.  The exposure to green-ware and glazes was about elementary school age.  Several years later as a junior, I was awarded a 4 year Art scholarship to Alfred University sponsored by Boys' Club of America.    During my senior year at Boys High School I received an awarded scholarship to attend the Brooklyn Museum Art School learning pottery  making skills.

My Graphic Arts experiences began with the advent of personal computers.  Computer Aided Design (CAD) was a natural progression for me at that time.  My design engineering skills are my foundation.  After many years of experience, supporting engineering and design technology, I opted for retirement.

Publishing was another area where I used my graphic design and CAD layout skills. I have published several tabloids;  “Racquetball Illustrated”, “Round-Ball Illustrated”, “Backboard etc.”, “Aide For Community awareness”, and the “One Voice News Letter”. The News publishing business was hard but satisfying seeing my work distributed in such a volume.  At times the editor and chief  position was occupied by the same person.  Other times the reporter and photographer was one job.

Clay sculpturing has always been my favorite medium. Working with my wife Michele, we have developed an application for my sculpture pieces. We replicated the sculptures in soap bars. We established a soap manufacturing business.  The sculptures make unique novelty soap bars.

Presently collage provides the opportunity to learn and develop Computer Graphics Design.  Developing skill in digital editing.  My previous Autocad experiences helps me manage raster image designs.  Some of my recent creations use vectors and offer special capabilities as a CGI tool.
